It seems as if everyone in Los Angeles has had their hand in the entertainment business, and Darrin is no exception – but being born across the street from NBC Studios in the heart of television that is Burbank, CA probably had something to do with it. While pursuing Cybernetics at UCLA in the early 90’s, Darrin found himself taking a class theatrical swordplay with the Academy of Theatrical Combat (because what kid doesn’t want to learn swordfighting!), and instantly fell in love. He quickly excelled at performance, going from student to instructor and appearing in a number of small films and television shows (incl. Treasure Island, Ring of Steel and Later with Greg Kinnear). Never to be confined to a single interest, Darrin moved into acting, performing in videogames (Black Ice, White Noise) commercials (Sprint, Capitalia) and later developing his live-action and improv skills while a member of the Sacred Fools Theater Company.
Marriage, kids and a new business venture carried Darrin away from the entertainment business for a while, but the love of film was ever-present in his family’s lives. Building on his experience in the industry and combining it with his own sense of humor and eye for detail, he began D’s Reviews in 2015, a review and commentary show on popular film and television.
Darrin is currently expanding his voiceover repertoire, honing the skills developed over years in entertainment, business and teaching.
